London Weekend Getaway!
i hav so much to tell
the superduper karaoke nite, the erasmus snogathon party and the awesome awesome Man u vs Lyon game last nite
but first,
my weekend in London!
actually i would like to tell u darlings abt Monday,
since ayah had meetings throughout the whole day i got a chance to explore by myself :)
First stop was the Victoria and Albert Museum,
i loved the british gallery and fashion displays, and especially the Georgian room sets and the sculptures were pretty cool too :)
next up i walked around the area and dropped by Paul Boulangerie for some pastries and goodies
It was funny all the people in the cafe spoke fluent french, both servers and customers
[i spoke English of course!]
Anyways i bought this sinful almond tartlet and yummy palmier!
bought it to go and stopped by a small bench to eat and soak up the atmosphere
found a secondhand bookshop and other cool stores,
walked around Chelsea and Fulham maybe
then when i was good and lost, i hailed a taxi to Oxford Street
didnt know what to do then because i didnt feel like shopping so dropped by Borders
and bought "Of Mistresses, Tigresses and Other Conquests" by Giacomo Casanova ;p
then had lunch at this quaint italian restaurant which served good seafood pasta btw
then at Bond street and next thing i knew i found myself at
no.18 Albermarle Street!
which is the address for the one and only Elizabeth Gage store in the WHOLE WIDE UNIVERSE
now if u knew me, u'd know im crazy over Elizabeth Gage jewellery since forever,
but i've only seen pictures in magazines and they do more exhibitions in the States rather than UK.
i came with ayah to the shop on Sunday but it was closed and this time it was open!
So i went in and immediately regretted it,
you see it was the kind of extremely posh and classy shops that make you feel like shit but OMG was the inside beautiful!
Anywayss, i spoke to the salesgirl[more like woman, actually] and she was extremely nice
she even wished me good luck with my studies when i left
And the jewellery was amazing exactly like how i've always pictured it to be!
but it should be with the price ur paying for it,
to hav one custom made starts at a whopping sum of 3000 pounds ok
I ended up signing ibu for the mailing list and promised to come again soon
i love that store~~~
then bought Belgian waffles smothered in chocolate,
then pistachio ice cream at the Gelato bar in Selfridges,
then pistachio cupcake also at the foodhall in Selfridges
[yes,in case u didnt notice, i ate a lot!]
And lastly ayah's victoria sandwich cake and strawberry puffs
then it was time to go,
So ayah sent me to London Euston had a teary goodbye and i spent a good half hour waiting for my train.
On the train i sat with this lovely guy who didnt even mind having my luggage in between us
[since it couldnt fit in the overhead compartment mind u!]
his children were really cute too
and when we reached Manchester,
after going down he actually came back to ask me if i needed help with my things
Bless him :)
Anyhoo,
now im back in Manchester urgh
but we went to the game yesterday yayy!
which i will blog about later, heh
for now,
i will bid u adieu
and end it with some random pictures from the weekend :)
the macaroon display @ LADUREE [yummmm!] which i did not have time to visit! :(
Paul and Joe sister i REALLY love! and u can find some of it at Urban Outfitter,
and for those in Malaysia, Tangs at Pavillion carry it as well :))
