just a spoonful of sugar,

Dear Iman
thank you for your interest in our MIB. Your profile looks really interesting. Your studies will correspond to the requirements for MIB. If you have the possibility to come to HEC, we organise our open day on March 14 (see attached).
I stay at your disposal for any other information that you might need.
best regards
britta delhay
development manager, msc

guess whos it frooooooooooommmmm
its the representative from HEC Paris!!!!
wahouuuuu * does a little shimmy around the very messy room*
I know its a little early but hey, I am graduating next year
Plus I was wondering if there were other modules I could take next year or the GMAT thingy which would make me a more attractive candidate for the degree
which is Masters of Science in International Business
I really like the degree structure
Theres four terms where u pick modules u like or want to specialise in and attend lectures, tutorials, etc
Then u have a business plan competition, business project and internship
plus u have to write a master thesis
However its very competitive and u have to be very innovative and creative and DRIVEN
Im not such a driven person
Im more mellow ;p

Ibu is not that keen on Paris tho.
For one thing, she thinks im really into the glamour of it all
[its true i am,part of me anyway ;p]
for another,
we have this be-yooooouuuuu-tiful apartment in Manchester
so why should we let it go to waste?
Manchester is one of the top business schools
BUT,
it doesnt sound so attractive when i say that ive got a bachelor and masters from Manchester
[at least for me]

but truly truly truly,
Im getting ahead of myself
I dont even know if i wanna do a masters
but its nice that ive already thought of some of my options :))
if it was up to ibu she wants me to go study Arabic in Damascus
i definitely do NOT see that happening tho ;p

Moving along,
I FINISHED EXAMS TODAYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!
its a wonderful day people
truly wonderful!
and i would like to thank some of the people who actually remembered i finished today!
ur calls and messages really made my day :))

And what better way to end the exam season
then a movie and looooooaaaads of jelly!
ha ha ha ha ha ha ha
[alcohol is forbidden after all ;p]
i pity the people who still have exams
but oh well, thats life for uuuuuu
tomorrow is a BIG cleaning session for moi

on an entirely different note,
starting this Monday I shall be attending a chair dance provocateur class!!!
Which is sort of like lap dancing
can u say SEX-AY! ;p
its a little bonding and catching up time w/ Hayley so we thought we'd try something daring
By the end of the class i'll be licensed to charge for lap dances
ha ha ha ha ha

okay i couldnt resist this image from the movie FlashDance lol
Photobucket

on another note again,
i find myself missing, well to put it simply, magic
if u know me,
u know im big on witches, fairies, vampires and all those paranormal things
so Howl's Moving Castle is a repeat on my media player[ This movie is a must watch its timeless and so magical and beautiful even]
and I miss playing final fantasy [ which i asked bam to buy again woohoo]
and im watching the Nutcracker Prince again [ its splendid and u know how much i love Tchaikovsky]
and all those little magical whimsical tales
I miss Cave of the Golden Roses!!!!
Thumbelina, The Princess and The Goblin, NeverEnding Story, and fairytales of the like
lots of damsels not-so-in distress, lots of dashing knights in shining armour, magical folks, beautiful scenery
A dash of romance, a pinch of magic and a whole lotta adventure
And im happy :))

I cant wait to play final fantasy again
my fingers are practically itching
ok i'll put an end to this post because
lets face it,
its already quite long

and i have better things to do my first night after exams
then write a long winding blog post

so au revoir!
[which reminds me i really need to start practicing french again lest i forget it all]

c'est tout

Ok this needs to be said
Aidan Quinn is HOT
[at least he is in Desperately Seeking Susan]
I remembered this from watching the film way back
But watching it again just made me realise how HOT he is
i love his voice, the way he speaks

that being said,
I didnt study today :(
I went to the saturday market and bought a load of stuffs that came up to a total of 50 pounds!
I bought fresh salmon, fresh hake and fresh scallops
And then I bought fresh bread
mmm bread I love bread dont u it beats rice any day
And I bought loads of secondhand novels
I NEARLY bought this vintage fur coat since it was only 30 pounds!
But then its faux fur plus when will I ever wear it?
Anyways, theres always next saturday if its still there

Its awful people I cant bring myself to study
But tomorrow theres no way around it cuz i didnt even look at maths yet
And im just gonna be in such deep shit if I discover i cant do it at the last minute

Other than that,
I had a look at the top business schools to do my masters
[i do graduate next year ppl ;p]
thats if i wanna do my masters,
and their extreeeeeeemely hard to get in
at the very top are :
University of Pennsylvania [ Wharton]
University of Michigan [ Ross]
Manchester Business School! yayy
HEC Paris
IMD Switzerland
The one I REALLY like is HEC Paris because hey,
its PARIS!
[and plus its really really good with a high salary and job opportunity bla bla]
but heres what i just discovered about doing ur masters in these business schools
1. you have to have minimum 3 years work experience [ouch!]
thats why when i had a look through the tables for the different schools the mean age of the entering class was 28! 28 PEOPLE! its crazy! for ALL universities!!
2. you have to have a REALLY high GMAT score...im talking nothing below 700
3.you have to have a really good essay and all of them have interviews...some of them by invitation ONLY!

As we are currently in a recession,
it is the most suitable time to do a master degree as most firms are currently not offering that much jobs
[so hopefully by the time I finish the master degree the economy would have picked up a bit]
HOWEVER, to do a master degree u need to have LOADS of work experience
which goes back to firms currently not offering many jobs
And what they do offer, they prefer people with work experience than a uni degree
Im in quite a pickle i tell u

Which brings me to my other issue,
Auntie Li Li said that for my course a lot of ppl are going for internships in Geneva
which sounds fabulous!
but then again,do i wanna spend the whole of summer in Geneva?
And not even come back to Malaysia?
And its not even coming back to Malaysia
Its the rest! dont i even get to rest a bit?

Maybe im going to have a loooong talk with some people the moment my exams are done and I have no prior engagements to worry about

toodles

sugar rush

Hello lovies!
Your probably wondering why im so cheerful,
Well, ive done three of my exams yay!
And only have maths left.
I havent looked through it AT ALL.
But,its only maths ;p
If i know it i know it
If, i dont
Well, doing exercises would probably solve that problem
But then again,
it is QUITE hard maths
oh well i'll solve that problem tomorrow

First things first.
A little recap abt the exams
Finance and Economics were REALLY HARD
I mean UNBEARABLY HARD
I mean the kind where everyone says theyre going to fail and a little swearing at the lecturers and general education system were starting to arise among the student body
At the amount I studied I expected to be fairly confident over the exams
No such thing.
I mean I could answer them but I was always doubtful of my answers
I even had to struggle to finish the papers in time
That never happened to me before!!!

And since my course is International Business, FINANCE and ECONOMICS
Those courses would still be compulsory to me at advanced level
Unlike my friends, who are planning to NOT take it anymore and even thinking of dropping it for second semester and taking up a 20 credit module
Sigh.....

Moving along!
Ive developed that "movie" habit again
The one where I have to watch at least a movie every night
I used to have it back in my first year
Actually,I used to do it with the flatmates every night [mostly Daria and Monica]
and have chocolate fondue or crepe or brownies as well
I miss those days ;(
So heres a list of all the movies i bought just this last week
{most of which ive watched before anyway!]

Young at Heart
Don Bluth's Thumbelina
The Last Holiday
A Troll in Central Park
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest
Sliding Doors
Original BBC version of "Alice in Wonderland"
The Moon-Spinners
Desperately Seeking Susan
The NeverEnding Story
In the Land of Women
Summer Magic
Meet the Robinsons

Notice a trend here?
If you know me at all,
you'd know that im a BIG fan of

romantic comedies
fantasy genre films
animation
period drama
musical
classic disney films
classic disney films of the hayley mills variety ;p
80's brat pack movies
and more

I am a movie aficionado
And it feels good to get back the habit
In fact, it feels terrific!
Its the best ive felt in awhile!
It even beats shopping for clothes!
[ok maybe not but it feels that way at the moment]

But u know what movie i really wanted to get
The one i actually put on the alarm on my phone for 3.30 pm
[the moment i finished exam ;p]
It was to buy Anastasia

I LOVE ANASTASIA
The story,the animation,the music!
It is so incredibly magical
The song are amazing completely brings you back to that time and age
You feel like your in Paris, you feel like your in Russia
You feel like your that long lost princess

Sadly, HMV didnt carry Anastasia
[the buggers]
But do not fret,
I shall have a look online they might have it at the online store

So now u know what I have been doing during exam season:
WATCH MOVIES
But i think i deserve it :))

On an entirely different note
Ibu and Ayah are currently in Dubai
and tomorrow their going to Damascus!
I would love to go to Damascus :(
And i vow that i shall someday go

On another note,
It is nearly that date folks
The date where I will go for that 3 day convention ;p
[i shall mention it in another post]
I met Darren for the first time just now after christmas hols and told him
And he went,
"A convention? for a film? thats kind of...geeky"
Heh
I shall have u know even mothers will be attending
And some of the actors
I'll get back to more details about the convention closer to the date

For now,toooodles!~
Im off to [ u guessed it ] watch a movie!!

Ive got the movie
Ive set my bed
Ive got my jelly!
What more could a girl ask for ;p

lead the way...

would u believe its already the 15th of January
and I have those dreaded exams in 3 more days!

yeap its that time of the year again folks
where depression hits practically everyone
pre-exam blues, post-holiday depression
what else what else

and generally, times are bad for everyone now
And im feeling very very VERY low

its this annoying exams that im finding more difficult than ever!
i now know the definition of struggling, for which i never knew before
And with whats happening in Palestine
its really upsetting and frankly scary how humans can be so INhumane
and it bothers me that im not helping except for the little little things which barely counts at all!
and then u have the recession as well!
like i said, times are bad all around
and i feel guilty for all the little expenses i make because ayah will be paying for everything
and looking at the way ayah works,
his money should NOT be spent on my little whims and fancies!

its a triple whammy attack people
and when u throw in the fact that i miss ibu a bit too too much,
well, suffice to say, i am definitely NOT walking on cloud nine

but to avoid sounding like a selfish brat,
its not ALL about me!

so i have this mental plan
of taking things one step at a time
survive these torturous exams
and at the same time,
try to live more frugally and help out with palestine whatever i can do from here

im not trying to achieve leaps and bounds at one go
but maybe i can take it one step at a time
day by day

and hopefully i'll get over these rainy day blues im suffering from
because really,
no one wants a little miss sniffles when I need a commander at this internal war i am currently facing
Im bossy enough and obnoxious enough to be able to take control
so i say,
woe...BE GONE! ;p

check back with me once exams are over
and ppl,
remember i love u no matter how scary i might get at times, heh
Im always here if u ever need a buddy,a shoulder to cry on, and the likes

a part of me u are
and a part of me u'll ALWAYS be :)

ART.

someone just kill me now
Ive been living like a zombie these past couple of days
wake up,study a bit,
then drift the night away chatting or reading books or watching movies
its not the kind of existence i would recommend even on my worse enemy!
Its a tad too redundant for my taste
but thats what I have to suffer through
At least till exams are over :p

a quick updates:

I have recently decided to grow my own herb garden
Why?
I am utterly disgusted by those dry junk u can buy in bottles
Thus have decided to grow my own fresh herbs :)
Currently I have parsley and chives,
will add dill and rosemary to my garden soooooon!

Even if its the beginning of 2009
I feel this kind of change in me
I feel more [ brace urself] mature
lately ive been talking to a lot of teenagers [I will explain why later]
And i find that I dont have the same energy levels that they have anymore
I mean dont get me wrong, i can still get ecstatic and enthusiastic over things
But im a bit more mellow now
And if i like something its with a quiet more heated passion
less of a screaming i wanna DIE RIGHT NOW obsession
[that teenagers are usually so fond of,haha...blame it on teen angst]

Heres another kinda funny thing
I find that I like Robert Pattinson [lol!]
Dont get me wrong,
I dont fancy him in the "OMG I WANNA MARRY YOU YOUR SO CUTE" kinda obsession
but more of,
wow u do good movies
wow ur wierd its endearing
wow ur actually a decent musician
wow ur really funny
[completely the opposite of Edward Cullen if u must now]

I kinda like his songs
And he is in this movie "How to be" which is a really brilliant artsy film
The movie has been playing at several film festivals
And even won several film festival awards
[and Rob himself won an award at the Strasbourg Film Festival!]
Its not out yet in cinemas or DVDs
have a look at the trailer ;)

Photobucket
Photobucket

I can hardly wait to watch it
its very james mcavoy in "inside im dancing" :)
the songs from the movie are fabulous too,
its the kind of music im listening to more and more these days
will post it on my blog soon :)

Another fabulous movie is "Little Ashes"
where Rob will be playing SALVADOR DALI!
[i told u he gets the most interesting roles :p]
I really like salvador dali
in fact, we were gonna go to his museum back in Montmarte,Paris
but it costs 6 euro,so the others didnt really feel like going
and I wasnt up to going alone :(
This movie seems good as well, check it out

what a movie aye :)

ok have to go back to my chatting :))
Im making loads of friends nowadays
Shall tell u why later
heh heh heh heh heh

when in france,

My stay in France was simply unforgettable
Daria's parents are amazing
Daria is amazing
I cant thank them enough
In a week I managed to experience so much its unbelievable

had a weekend getaway in Paris
watched an amazing contemporary ballet at the "Opera Nationale de Lorraine"
visited the christmas market, the amazing cathedral, and la petite france in Strasbourg
spent an amazing christmas eve with loads of games, performance and presents!
went skiing in Gerardmer and stayed a night at the resort
had a road trip where we took the "road of wine" and visited three towns in the Alsace region:
Munster,famous for the cheese
Riquewihr, this charming medieval little town where time actually stood still - all the buildings looked like a dollhouse!
Haut-Koenigsbourg, to see the old medieval chateau! a chateau!
And Nancy!
Beautiful, beautiful Nancy of the amazing architecture and old-fashion charm
The Place Stanislas is a WORLD Unesco Heritage
and Nancy is famous for l'ecole de Nancy, or better known as Art Noveau
So u can see it on most of the buildings around town
It is all so very whimsical :)

France is sinply breathtaking
Going to different regions is like going to different countries!
Architecture in the Lorraine region is completely different from the Alsace
And the same can be said for all the different regions in France
A river during our travels was the infamous river which separates France and Germany
The other side would be German land, and most importantly,
The Black forest!J'adore le foret noir!

I tried all kinds of traditional food,
[including escargot ;p]
be it french or russian!
I met wonderful people of Russian and French heritage
I went to all these magical places
and I was completely immersed in culture
If u know me at all u would understand what a dream come true it is for me
Its like in one of my novels!!!!

Theres just something about France that pulls me
Its all the old cities, and chateaux, and breathtaking sceneries
It is totally totally ME
Im a dreamer and I couldnt have picked a better setting!

So lets just say,
that France have not seen the last of me!
I shall be back for more out of this world,pleasure-filled adventures!

p.s here are some pictures
but im very lazy lah so im just putting them all together and view the rest at facebook ook? :)

take me:

So this is my first post for 2009
and i actually have LOADS to blog about
including my new year's resolution, trip to France and London

but the first thing on the agenda is...
TWILIGHT!

i know everyone is probably thinking
"oh no not again!"
but bear with me, the movie just came out in the UK :p

And after watching the movie,
I have to admit that Robert Pattison makes a pretty good Edward Cullen
and I can see why Henry Cavill would have NOT.[make a good Edward Cullen that is]

I still dont think the movie is AMAZING
but u know its exactly like how the book is so its more than good enough for moi
plus it satisfies that inner slut inside all girls
[at least it does for mine :p]
we all have felt the need for a bad boy in our lives
the brooding,sexy, silent type
one who is wicked, and is so in love and tormented by his love for us
and who will do wicked and deliciously sinful things! ah! ah! ah! :p
One thing I like about Edward Cullen is,
he is all those things...
but NOT dumb
It is so important for a guy to be educated dont u think?
well read, listens to good music

I was especially shocked to see that he listened to Claude Debussy!
I mean what a coincidence for him to be listening to Claude Debussy in the movie!!!
[if u didnt know, or u dont have facebook, i was going through a Claude Debussy craze awhile back]
And especially listening to "Clair de Lune"
I LOVE CLAIR DE LUNE!!
its MY song!
it is REALLY MY SONG
I listened to it again and again and again
and for them to pick Claude Debussy and THAT song of all the others is like surreal
I got goosebumps and actually had a small shock attack in the cinema!
Its like kismet or something :p
I even had it on my blog awhile back
I'll put it on again now :))

So suffice to say,
TWILIGHT wasn't the crap i expected,
it wasnt soo amazing
it was kind of like porn for teenagers
but it was dark and twisted and sexy in the way i like so much
so it satisfies my inner soul
and its filled with vampires!
enough said,
definitely my kinda movie ;p

and THAT is why im going again to watch it tomorrow w/ syafea :)))))

ok its now 3.49 am
maybe i should get some sleep
ciao ciao!
